 Study Design: Prospective longitudinal study.
Place and Duration Study: Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU), Pir Abdul Qadir Shah Jeelani Institute Medical Sciences, Gambat Khaipur Mirs from Sep 2018 to Mar 2020.
Methodology: All gestational age <32 weeks pregnancy were included, while who died <12 hours life excluded study. relevant maternal neonatal data extracted patient files recorded electronic form. The further stratified into three groups: i) without haemorrhage, ii) mild iii) severe haemorrhage.

Homocysteine levels in preterm infants: is there an association with intraventricular hemorrhage? a prospective cohort study

BACKGROUND The purpose of this study was to characterize total homocysteine (tHcy) levels at birth in preterm and term infants and identify associations with intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) and other neonatal outcomes such as mortality, sepsis, necrotizing enterocolitis, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and thrombocytopenia. METHODS 123 infants < 32 weeks gestation admitted to our Level III nurs...

Does transport affect the incidence of intraventricular hemorrhage in preterm infants?

Objective: Preterm infants are prone to intraventricular hemorrhage. They may suffer from significant morbidity and mortality particularly in those with high-grade hemorrhage. Our objective was to determine the incidence of intraventricular hemorrhage in premature infants transported to a tertiary center compared with those delivered at the level III facility.  Methods: We evaluated all prematu...

Prevention of intraventricular hemorrhage in preterm infants.

Prematurely born infants with intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) suffer significant morbidity and mortality, particularly those infants with high grade hemorrhage. The more premature infants have a higher incidence, experiencing more severe IVH. Early onset IVH is also likely to be severe and to progress to a higher grade. The etiology of intraventricular hemorrhages is clearly multifactorial, w...
